Green Wellie Boot Book

This sizeable coptic book is made from a beach found, beautifully weathered size 11 wellie boot.

My wellie boot books are the outcome of my first weathered boot find on a nearby beach a few years ago, I was preparing for an exhibition and thought "I can do something with this". A couple of years later, it was still in my garden and I took it to the tip where I could not quite bring myself to actually chucking it out. I took it home again and started making. Myself, my family and friends have now found 8 of those large single wellies over the last few years, 4 of which remain to be made :)

The cover is constructed from the wellie boot shaft backed with a black board. The book block is made from an acid free artist paper, 170gsm, which is ideal for writing, drawing and sketch book purposes. All pages are deckled adding to the organic feel of the book. The book block is interleafed with acid free, pastel-coloured Hahnemuehle Ingress papers.
