Rock and Water - Buttonhole Book

This is a buttonhole binding which means that there is an opening in the covers that I underlaid with some of my sand and water pape. It also has an opening at the spine that looks through into the inside of the book with the book block becoming part of the outer design. It is a lovely book structure that invites creativity during the design process..

The sewing that holds the book together shows in parallel lines of thread on the spine.

The interleaving papers are a textured pastel blue Hahnemuehle Ingres paper which are deckled as is the rest of the book block, adding to its organic and substantial feel.

The book block is made from an acid free paper, 170gsm, which is ideal for writing, drawing and sketch book purposes.
