The new wedding album edition shown to the left has just been finished. It features blue and burgundy bookcloth hard cover albums with seaweed heart or footsteps images inserted in the front cover. I have also made sime which feature my own wax papers set into the front cover.
Of course, you can choose your own image, may it be the wedding rings or another striking image which reminds you of the day, to create your very own bespoke wedding album. Alternatively, we could turn a sample of the fabric of your wedding dress into book cloth and sink it into the front cover.
See the Photo Albums page for more images or contact me me to commission your own album.

Sollas Bookbinding features as Maker of the Month in the HI Arts online crafts newsletter, and all thanks to the kilt in the box, well, hopefully not only thanks to the kilt in the box.
‘Corinna talks to HI-Arts about her background, her work, her involvement with Art on the Map and her recent collaborative project with Netty Sopata of Diggory Brown…’
If you go to the craft section of the newsletter, you will find Netty Sopata as joint Maker of the Month March.
…busy co-ordinating an online artist and makers directory for the Uists and organising this year’s Art on the Map studio trail, will keep you posted….

The kilt has made it into the box, well, first of all the box made it to Netty Sopata at Digorry Brown, a designer kilt maker from Lewis. The idea was born during a fascinating trip to Okrney, researching the flourishing craft scene there, when Netty asked me whether I could make a box big enough to fit a kilt into. What a task, 25″x15″x4.5″, but with a bit of structural thinking, the box was finally finished, looked impressive (hopefully not only due to its size) and went to Lewis, where the kilt went into it before being sent to Norton and Sons, bespoke tailors in London, as a sample for their new collection. Fingers crossed, they will love the idea of the kilt in a box…

Come along to the cow shed in Baleshare on Saturday, 21st of November for a one off Christmas Craft Fair featuring work by Uist craft makers and artists.
It should be a comfy cosy occasion with mulled wine and ginger biscuits and no doubt a good chat.
And, of course, not to forget that it will be a great opportunity to buy Christmas presents which are individual, beautiful and just something very special.
Have a lovely day in the cow shed…

I have just been to Edinburgh where I dropped off a series of coptic books, twin books and hinged boxes to the designer craft shop Concrete Wardrobe.
If you get a chance, go and see, its more than likely you find a special Christmas gift there.
It’s a great shop with lots of beautiful high quality craft objects made in Scotland.

Last Sunday was a long and successful day making boxes at Taigh Chearsabhagh. There were six of us labouring away from 10 in the morning until five in the evening, with lovely tea breaks of course and home made baking by one of the participants.
In the end everyone was efficiently exhausted but visibly over the moon about the ‘pieces of furniture’ that were made during that day. Thanks to Taigh Chearsabhagh for hosting it, great studio space.
These are the finished boxes…
